On March 25, 2022 KEOPS will finally release their first album in English "Road to Perdition".
Powerful, colossal, impressive. KEOPS are like the probably most famous pyramid in the world, after which they were named, but inspired by the famous Iron Maiden album "Powerslave".
Already the first single of the upcoming album, "Unconscious Mind", attracted a lot of attention with its extraordinary video and made sure that KEOPS quickly gained many new metal fans. The cryptic lyrics of the song do the rest. Is the song about self-reflection and consciously noticing the unpleasant sides of oneself? Or is the song rather meant to be socially critical? What is your answer?
That KEOPS love it when their lyrics leave a lot of room for interpretation is also noticeable in "Trauma". Is the song really about a trauma, a (night)dream or is it all just imagination in the end?
The title song "Road to Perdition" tells of change that is not always entirely voluntary, but sometimes inevitable. Or is it voluntary after all?
In "When I Remember", the 5 musicians sing about the thoughts of soldiers who go into battle and remember the good old days before the war. The exceptional singer Zvonimir puts a lot of feeling into the song, denounces and sings full of pain at the same time. Goosebumps guaranteed!
Rise Again" is about the development of the band. With a new line-up and a new sound, KEOPS 2022 are ready to thrill metalheads all over the world and are ready to hit the ground running.
What all the tracks on "Road to Perdition" have in common are driving, hard-hitting drums, guitars that always give the songs that certain something with refined solos and an incredible dynamic, as well as the outstanding voice of singer Zvonimir.
In summary, the album is about what happens when you lose yourself and what is really important in life. On "Road to Perdition", KEOPS denounce the fact that our everyday life is becoming more and more fast-paced, that most people only think about themselves and lose sight of essential things like compassion, love, health and joy of life.
