Everyone certainly knows this feeling. You want out, away from the noise, rearrange your thoughts and find some rest. In a time where “faster, bigger, better” seems to be the motto, you’ll need it… the small island in your head, on which you can hide for some time. The musician Hendrik from Braunschweig searched for this place and has actually found it. On My Isle is the consistent reduction on what really counts. Big melodies, stripped down arrangement, which will let the songs speak for themselves. On My Isle is a perceived stroll on the edge of human emotions.
After many years of “Rock ‘n Roll”-lifestyle with his former bands SYLIC and concerts throughout whole Germany, something had to change. “It was a wonderful time, but somewhere, somewhen the air was out.”, singer Hendrik states. A few years of creative breaks later, On My Isle was born out of the desire to create intimate moments between the artist and his audience. “I hope, that people, who listen to my songs, will find themselves in them. All the pieces are autobiographical and arose in very heavy phases of my life.”, Hendrik comments on his songs.
Hendrik played his first concert with his own band and own songs at the age of 16, as a support for Zeraphine in a sold-out Logo in Hamburg. “That was incredible! This night was like a rush for me.”, the 31 years-old remembers. Countless shows were to follow as support for big players in the scene, such as MONO INC., Negative, End of Green and many more. “A very educational time”, he assures.
A Travelled Soul…
…is way more than just an album. It’s a collection of emotional ups and downs.
Next to the music, Hendrik’s other passion is travelling. On many trips through countries like Iceland, New Zealand and Finland he gathered many impressions, which can also be found in his music. Because expressing himself by music is what the singer does best.
The journey has just begun…
