Tanzwut - Die Tanzwut kehrt Zurück
1-LP Vinyl Gatefold
The opener and title track “Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück” directly shows the new dimension of the production and whips up like an unstoppable storm. What a start! Thematically, the Berliners go straight to the top with singer “Teufel” and deliver a message that is worth thinking about. The song tells of the black death, also known as the plague. What is the point of accumulating material goods in the sense of higher, faster, further? Tanzwut open your eyes to enjoy the moment and live life as if there was no tomorrow.
In “Feine Menschen” the minstrels prove why they rightly belong to the elite of the German medieval rock scene. Virtuoso and at the same time majestic, heavy bagpipes open the song before Shumon's drums join in. Here, too, Tanzwut go into the box of tricks for the rather unpleasant topics and denounce the superficiality and egoism of many people. The song sketches people walking over dead bodies just to satisfy their greed. This socially critical text is dressed in a dark rock garment with headbanger qualities. Tanzwut know exactly how to do it.
Conclusion: “Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück” convinces with hardness, musical diversity and meaningful texts. The anticipation for the time after the pandemic, the sheer greed to perform live in front of fans again and the switch to NoCut Entertainment - you can feel all of this when listening to this record, which, given its freshness, could also be an angry debut album.
Welcome back, dear Tanzwut!
